CIMA, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is not only an accounting qualification but a qualification for the Business Managers. CIMA qualifiers are basically business people with a finance orientation, not just accountants. With 164,000 students and members in 161 countries, CIMA is the number one choice of the employers. Its emphasis is on business and financial strategy within a broad commercial context and goes beyond the confines of accounting, audit and tax.
The Chartered Management Accountants (CMA) are experts in finance and highly skilled to make key decisions in business and advice others about the financial implications. CIMA certificate is also observed as a passport for global employability as it is internationally portable and highly recognized by the employers. CIMAs are working all over the globe in industry, commerce, financial institutions, public sector and not-for-profit organizations.
CIMA syllabus is structured in 2 parts:
1. CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
This Certificate is ideal for the people who are new to the professional qualifications as it offers solid grounding of basics of management / financial accounting and business.

CO5 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance & Business Law
Computer Based Assessment (CBA)
The understanding of students in these subjects is tested through the Computer Based Assessments in CAMS. The advantages of CBA are:
- Students can assess themselves whenever they are ready and within CAMS
- The results are available immediately
- The exams are conducted every month
2. CIMA Professional Qualification
CIMA professional qualification is a unique qualification as it offers Diploma and Advance Diploma on completion of Operational and Management level examinations respectively. This qualification develops skills in business management and accounting that increases the career growth and valuable experience that enhance the earning capacity of an individual.

Entry to CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is open to all. However, competency in Mathematics and English Language is importance to understand and pass the examinations at this level.
Entry requirements to CIMA Professional Qualification are as follows:
- CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
- Relevant degrees in accountancy or business
- Accounting Technician qualification
- MBA (from recognized university)
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)
- Selected relevant professional qualifications

Although there is no deadline for registration with CIMA for Certificate in Business Accounting courses as these examinations are available throughout the year but for Professional Qualification exams candidates must meet following deadlines to enable themselves for May and November exams:
