Associate Degree in Commerce – ADC (B.Com)

The Associate Degree Program in Commerce (ADC) is registered with the University of Karachi and is being run under CAMS Commerce College since 1997 (as B.Com). ADC is a two years program which is a replacement of B.Com. Students successfully completing ADC can continue their four year degree in Commerce. They also have an option to join CAMS BS/BBA program in the fifth semester and be awarded a four year BS/BBA degree from University of Karachi at CAMS.

Our students are also prepare to undertake higher degree studies in local and international universities.

We are offering ADC/B.Com and Intermediate at Tipu Sultan Girls campus and PECHS campus.

Scheme of Studies

ADC/B.Com classes are held five days a week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. On Friday the classes end at 12:30 noon. There are five periods a week in the core subjects of Principles of Accounting, Economic Analysis and Policy, Principles of Management, and Advanced Accounting and Cost Accounting.  Other subjects have three to four periods per week. 

 

Emphasis is given to the students who need extra guidance. Such classes are arranged after the regular college timings.

Admission policy and Criteria

CAMS College admits students on the basis of academics and an interview.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  1. Admission is based on merit, availability of seats, and siblings’ reference
  2. Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirement in order to be considered for admission to the Program
  3.  Admission is given on the basis of Intermediate or A’ Levels results

 

Admission Requirements

 

  1. Minimum 50% Marks in Intermediate  OR Minimum 3 A’ Level Subjects with grade C or higher.
  2. Results awaiting students of Intermediate or A’ Levels can apply on the basis of results of their last class attended.

fee Challan is issued. Admission will be confirmed on the deposit of fees and

  5. Photocopy of Equivalence Certificate (For A’ Level Students only)

Commencement of Admissions and Classes

Admissions open in September-November and continue till February of the succeeding year. Students can apply online or visit the campus. Classes commence from the first week of January. The duration of each academic year is of 12 months i.e. from January to December. 

Progression of ADC/B.Com Degree Holders

Many of our graduates join industry in different sectors of business such as accounting and finance, sales, marketing, administration and management, HR. They also become entrepreneurs and simultaneously continue their higher education in the week-end or evening programs with leading universities in Karachi such as IBA, IoBM and SZABIST etc. Some of them also join University of Karachi BS/BBA program at CAMS as a fulltime student and avail exemptions from the first four semesters to complete their four years degree.

Facilities

Library

 

The library consists of a large collection of books concerning various disciplines of business and computer science. Besides providing supplemental reading material for college courses, there are also books of general interest. CAMS subscribes to newspapers, international and national magazines and academic publications and journals.

 

Computer Lab

 

Students have access to computer lab, with over 15 workstations, networked with internet connectivity, scanning and laser printing facility. Word processing, database and spreadsheet software are available for students. An IT Supervisor is also available for assistance and guidance. The College cafeteria offers snacks and meals, soft drinks and tea for students and staff.

 

Girls Common Room

 

A separate Girls Common/Prayer Room with a washroom facility is available.

 

Transport Facility

 

College Van Private transport contractors provide transport facility to students commuting from various areas of Karachi. At the time of admissions, students needing college transport should enquire from Admin Office about the charges and timings of the college transport.

 

Internships

 

Work placement internships are an integral part of CCBIT curriculum. The students are required to acquire industry experience during their coursework. Internships during the summer break are mandatory for all students. Part-time students in the evening program are exempted from this requirement.

 

Job Placement Office

 

CAMS job placement office assists students in obtaining internships and job interviews for CCBIT students and graduates. The job placement office also organizes Recruiters’ Day, inviting recruiters from national and multi-national companies to talk about their companies and speak with our students.

  • The tuition fee is payable on monthly basis
  • Fees are not refundable except security deposit

  • The due date of paying tuition fees is 7th of every month
  • Payments can be made via Bank Pay Order / Crossed Cheque drawn in favor of CAMS Private Limited. CASH payments are accepted at Head Office, Tipu Sultan Campus or at any branch of Bank AL Habib Limited
  • Late payment of Rs.500 will be charged
  • Activity charges will be charged separately in the monthly Fee Invoice
  • Security deposit is refundable within six months from the date of announcement of the results
  • Fees can be revised on yearly basis
